The EURO Virtual Account: Your Own IBAN, in Solid

Solid has added the one thing a euro account was missing: an IBAN. Here is what it does, what it costs, and who should open one today.
The idea
Until now, getting euros into Solid meant going through a card or an exchange. The EURO Virtual Account removes that step. Open it and you get an IBAN and a BIC issued in your name, sitting inside the app next to your card. Anyone in the SEPA zone can send you euros the way they would send them to any bank account. When the transfer arrives, the euros become EURC, 1:1, in your Solid wallet. Most transfers show up within seconds of your bank sending them.
It is a small addition on screen and a large one in practice. Your salary, a client invoice, a marketplace payout, or a top-up from the bank account you already have: all of it can now land directly in Solid.
How it works
If your Solid card is issued by Wirex, there is nothing new to verify: the KYC you completed for the card covers the account. Tap Add funds, choose Cash, then Euro, then SEPA transfer, confirm a few details, and your IBAN and BIC appear, ready to copy. The whole thing takes seconds, and opening is free.
The account does not hold a balance of its own. It is a routing address. A SEPA transfer comes in, the euros are converted 1:1 into EURC, the deposit fee for your tier is withheld, and the EURC is delivered to the wallet you already control. Solid is not a bank. The account is provided through Wirex and its licensed partners, but once the EURC is in your wallet it is non-custodial: you hold it, and Solid cannot freeze it or move it without you.
From there it behaves like any Solid balance. Spend it with your Wirex card, or deposit it in a vault to earn yield. Set Euro as your main currency and euro purchases are paid straight from your EURC balance with no FX fee, which is the detail that turns this from a deposit feature into an everyday account.
The details
Opening is free on every tier. The only Solid fee is on deposits, and it scales with your Solid Rewards tier: 0.5% on Core, 0.25% on Prime, nothing on Ultra. Fees under one cent are waived, and your own bank may add its usual SEPA fee on the sending side. There is no minimum, and each transfer can be up to €100,000. The account is deposit-only for now; outgoing SEPA transfers are coming soon.
It is available to Solid cardholders whose card is issued by Wirex: the EU and EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the other Wirex countries. Cards issued by Rain, including in the United States, cannot open one yet. It is also different from the US Virtual Account, which gives you US details for ACH and wire, runs on Rain and has a one-time $10 opening fee. The EURO version runs on Wirex and is free to open.

The EURO Virtual Account does one thing and does it cleanly: it gives Solid a real euro front door. Free to open, no new verification, instant settlement, and a balance you actually own. The missing piece is sending euros out, and that is on the way. If you have a Wirex-issued card and get paid in euros, there is no reason to wait.
The EURO Virtual Account is available to Solid cardholders whose card is issued by Wirex and is provided through Wirex and its licensed partners. Solid is a financial technology company, not a bank. Incoming euros are converted 1:1 into EURC, minus the deposit fee for your Solid Rewards tier, and delivered to your non-custodial Solid wallet. Your bank may charge its own fees for SEPA transfers. Outgoing transfers are not available yet. Nothing here is investment or tax advice.
