Solid x TransFi: fund your account straight from your local bank

TLDR: You can now fund your Solid account straight from your local bank account or mobile money wallet, with no crypto exchange in the middle. Local deposits are live in 16 currencies across Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Gulf and the euro area, and Thailand is live for cash out. Powered by our new partner TransFi.
Getting money into a self-custody account has always been the awkward part.
Holding dollars in Solid was never the problem. Spending them on your card, earning on your balance, keeping your own keys: all of that worked. Getting money in was the wall. If you were outside the US, you had to go through a centralized exchange first. New signup, second KYC check, buy stablecoins, pay a spread, pick the right chain, withdraw, pay a network fee. Two platforms, two accounts, and your money sitting in someone else's custody at every stop along the way.
Today that wall comes down in 16 currencies.
What is live today
Open the funding screen in Solid and your local currency now appears alongside stablecoin deposits. Pay from your bank account or your mobile money wallet using the methods you already use, and the value arrives in your Solid balance as dollars.

Who we built it with
Local rails are powered by TransFi, a payments infrastructure company built for the markets legacy banking serves worst.
Picking a ramp partner is one of the least glamorous and most consequential calls a product like ours makes. A ramp that fails silently in Lagos, or takes four days to settle in Manila, is worse for users than no ramp at all. What made TransFi the right choice is depth in the specific places our users live:
- 100+ countries, on local rails rather than card processing bolted onto a global network
- 250+ local payment methods, covering bank transfers, mobile money, and the QR systems people actually use: Pix, PromptPay, GCash, QRIS, bKash
- 40+ currencies, with FX handled at the rail level
- 2.7M+ active end users and 100+ active clients already moving money through the platform
- 130+ digital assets across 35+ blockchains, which gives us room to grow what you can hold and fund with
TransFi processes the fiat leg of the transaction and nothing else.
Why this matters more in some places than others
If you live somewhere with a stable currency and functioning banks, a dollar balance is a convenience.
If you live somewhere your currency loses value every month, it is something else entirely. It is the difference between savings that hold their value and savings that quietly disappear. That has always been the strongest reason to use Solid, and until today the way in was blocked for exactly the people who needed it most.
The markets we opened first are not an accident.
Still non-custodial
Nothing about how Solid works has changed. You hold your own keys. Funds settle directly to your wallet. We cannot freeze your balance, move your money, or lock you out of your account, and adding local bank transfers does not change that. The fiat rail sits at the edge of the system, converting local currency into dollars on chain. Everything past that point is yours.
This is what separates Solid from a neobank. A neobank in Lagos or Buenos Aires can also hand you a dollar balance and a card. What it cannot hand you is an account that is genuinely yours, that keeps working if the company does not, and that nobody else has the technical ability to touch.
A Solid that does not ask you to learn crypto first
Every self-custody product has quietly assumed the same things about its users: that they already know what a stablecoin is, already hold an exchange account, already understand a network fee, already know which chain to withdraw on. That assumption is why self custody stayed a niche for people who arrived through crypto, rather than reaching people who arrived because they needed a bank that works.
Local rails remove the assumption. Someone who has never bought a stablecoin, never heard of Ethereum, and has no interest in either can open Solid, transfer from their bank the way they transfer to anyone else, and end up holding dollars they fully control. The chain is still there doing the work. They no longer have to think about it.
That is the direction we are building in. Solid should feel like a good bank account and behave like self custody, without asking anyone to hold both ideas in their head at once. Every corridor we open widens who that is true for, and it widens it twice over: more countries, and more people inside those countries who were never going to make it through an exchange signup.
We are not finished. Parts of Solid still show their plumbing more than they should. But this release moves a large amount of complexity out of the way, and every corridor behind it moves it out of the way for a lot more people.
How to use it

Solid is a non-custodial platform. You control your keys and your funds at all times. Local currency deposits and withdrawals are provided by TransFi and are subject to TransFi's terms and verification requirements. Corridor availability, supported payment methods, fees, limits and settlement times vary by country and payment method, are displayed in the app before you confirm a transaction, and may change. Thailand is currently supported for withdrawals only. Corridors described as still to come are not yet available and may not be released. Platform statistics attributed to TransFi are published by TransFi.
